3SE Examination Method – The Best Way to Examine Hair Pre-Operation
Before undergoing a hair transplantation surgery in Turkey, it’s essential that you find a surgeon and a clinic that has your best interest in mind. At the Dr. Resul Yaman Hair Clinic, the doctor and his hair transplant specialists follow a method that works every time. It’s called the 3SE method. In the section below, you will find out more about what the 3SE method is, and the first stage of the method, which is the examination and planning phase of your surgery.
This 3SE method consists of three stages. During the first stage, the doctor will scan the patient’s head with a 3D scanner. That way, he can count the number of hairs the patient has. Once the scan is complete, the doctor will also know how many of the hairs he can safely extract. That way, Dr. Yaman prevents overharvesting your donor area and wasting hair follicles. The second stage of the 3SE method is the extraction of hair follicles from the donor area. Dr. Resul Yaman uses a unique manual FUE hair transplantation technique to do that. The graft is removed with an instrument that rotates between 90 and 120 degrees or with a non-rotating instrument (depending on what is best for the patient’s case). As a result, the doctor can extract the hair follicles without damaging the graft and the surrounding tissue. The third stage of the 3SE methodology is the safe implantation of the previously extracted hair follicles. To implant the hair into your scalp, Dr. Resul Yaman uses the evolved version of the DHI method, which is safer, faster, and delivers much better results.
What is the 3SE Examination Process?
During the first stage of the 3SE method, Dr. Yaman will examine your head with a 3D scanner to collect all of the information he needs. Here is what the examination process looks like, step by step:
Dr. Yaman examines the hair and grafts in the patient’s donor area
He then analyzes the thickness of the hair follicles, the shaft structure, and whether they are healthy enough
Dr. Yaman will then examine your skin structure (as every race has a unique skin structure)
If you have any skin conditions, the doctor will carefully examine those too
Once the donor area is done, Dr. Yaman will start examining your recipient area and determine your reason for hair loss and the current state of your hair
Once the examination is complete, the doctor will create a plan of action and walk you through exactly what is going to happen next. With that said, if you are not in the area and can’t travel to Dr. Yaman’s clinic for the examination, you can send photos to get preliminary information.
The Reason for Undergoing a Pre-Operative Examination
In hair transplantation, factors such as the patient’s hair structure, hair color, frequency in the donor area, degree of hair loss, and type of hair are all really important to consider. Moreover, whether the patient’s scalp is white, brown, or red is also essential to know pre-operation. In addition, as you can guess, each patient experiences hair loss at a different rate. Each patient will also have different expectations about the outcome of their surgery. For example, the post-operative hair density of a patient with thin hair may seem less than that of a patient with thick hair. For this reason, a higher rate of hair follicle transplantation in a thin-haired patient provides more satisfactory results. As a result, hair examination within the 3SE method is essential in achieving the best possible results, no matter your circumstances.
The Calculation of Hair Capacity in the Donor Area
Prior to undergoing your surgery, Dr. Yaman will dedicate enough time to calculate the hair capacity in your donor area. That way, if the donor area (which is often the nape on your scalp) has enough hair follicles for the procedure, Dr. Yaman will go ahead to the next step. If not, he will look for a suitable donor area elsewhere on your body. The second option is often the beard hair underneath your chin.
FAQs About the 3SE Examination Process
How Long Does the 3SE Examination Take?
The examination is relatively fast compared to the actual surgery. As Dr. Yaman uses a state-of-the-art 3D scanner, it will do all of the hard work for him. As a result, human error is eliminated and the process takes less time. Generally speaking, the examination shouldn’t take longer than an hour.
Can My Hair Get Examined Without Visiting the Clinic?
Though it would be ideal to get your hair examined in person, if that’s not possible due to your location, you can send pictures of your hair to Dr. Yaman. He will take a look at them and give you information on what the next step is.
